How Formula 1 Came To Be…
I (Jillian) was looking for a supplement that would offer benefits for cellular aging, all wrapped up in one product that I could take daily that had appropriate dosing (serving sizes) of these ingredients that actually yields results. As a naturopathic doctor with 8+ years of clinical experience, I wanted to create a product that actually did something, and cellular aging to me is the focus of health that not only benefits our appearance (think: skin health) but so many other processes in our bodies. Aging well to me also means having optimal health - mentally/neurologically, joints, cardiovascular, metabolic, etc.
Cellular aging is a complex process and affects all aspects of our overall health, including the health and appearance of our skin. It’s nice to be able to take products that help enhance our appearance, but what I think is even more important is that the products we are taking can also help improve how we will continue to age, and how we feel as we age.
I boiled down the formula into four ingredients, based on the research and traditional botanical uses and chose:

Increases something called brain-derived neurotrophic factor - important for neurological anti-aging support
Reduces cell senescence (metabolic changes that indicate a cell is aging)
 
Product Features (In Detail):
Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen - this ingredient helps with skin elasticity, skin hydration and overall skin radiance, as well as improving hair and nail growth/strength. Marine collagen also has further benefits for other areas of our body that are indirectly related to skin health - the gut, hormones and brain health. Our marine collagen is hydrolyzed, meaning it easily dissolves in water, helping to enhance absorption. Marine collagen contains 19 of the 21 amino acids our bodies need and is a particularly excellent source of the amino acids glycine, lysine, proline and hydroxyproline. These particular amino acids help to combat oxidative stress and protect against free radicals. Studies have shown that as little as 2.5g (2500mg) daily is enough to have positive benefits on the health of our skin.
Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) - also known as the “mushroom of immortality”; adaptogenic, immune supporting, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Reishi mushrooms contains beta glucan, a polysaccharide that helps support the gut and skin microbiome, as well as gut lining integrity and skin barrier integrity. Reishi mushroom has also been shown to improve the conversion of testosterone by mitigating the activity of 5a-reductase, which can be helpful in managing the frequency and severity of breakouts, hair loss, and other conditions associated with poor testosterone hormone conversion and DHT.
Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica) - used traditionally in medical herbalism as a “nutritive”. Offers minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc and potassium for skin, hair and cellular health. Also rich in flavonoids and vitamins like B vitamins that are important for optimal skin, hair and cellular health too. Supportive in blood glucose control and hormone metabolism, as well as “balancing” the immune system.
Green Coffee Bean Extract (Coffea arabica Extract) - rich in antioxidants and supportive for our body’s natural detoxification pathways. Commonly used as a supplement for metabolic support. Green coffee bean extract is supportive for many aging processes of our bodies, as well as helpful for in raising something called “BDNF”, helping to support our neurological system. It can help with blood sugar regulation and may also improve health markers such as blood pressure and cholesterol.
